The customer was furious, filed a complaint and was seeking a lawsuit against this company.  If your hands are tied as a consequence of company policy, escalate the situation to anyone who has the ability to act in the customer's favor. Therein lies task - how you can effectively utilize and manage a answering services company to best serve the needs of the two customer bringing in and also the company itself.
